Vertical anchor windlasses are an excellent choice for boats with limited deck space due to their compact design. These windlasses take up minimal room and can be easily installed in smaller boat configurations.

By concealing the motor and gearbox in the chain locker, the vertical setup minimizes deck clutter. However, it's important to factor in the space requirements for the chain locker.
