Clam Cleats
Clam Cleats, sometimes known as a Jam Cleat, have a simple compact construction. They work by trapping the rope or line in the ribbed/fluted V shape, with the load on the rope helping hold it in place.
They provide a more compact option over a Cam Cleat, making them popular on dinghies and small boats. They're holding power is very good, but ropes and lines are less easily released from Clam Cleat when under load.
