Fixed VHF radios typically possess a broader broadcast range compared to handheld VHF radio models. This is largely due to the external antenna being mounted on a mast or coach roof. The increased height and antenna size contribute to extending the broadcasting range.
Most of the fixed VHF radios we offer come with a vital feature known as Digital Selective Calling (DSC). Its main function is to send distress signals to both other ships and shore systems. It automatically transmits information about the ship's identity. If your VHF is connected with an onboard GPS, it will also transmit location information.
