Nasa Solar Panels - At just 3.5mm thick, these 12 volt, semi flexible solar panels are robustly constructed on a fibre glass substrate and are protected by a scratch proof transparent Tedlar polymer which is tough enough to withstand being stepped on when wearing soft soled shoes.
The efficient & stable polycrystalline cells are encapsulated between two tough outer layers so the whole panel is weatherproof.
The panels can be gently flexed (in one dimension) to follow a smooth curve, such as a coach roof, by up to 2.5cm per 100cm of panel length.
• Four, grommet finished, holes for screw fixing.
• Panels can be glued into position using mastic
• Fitted with sealed junction box with 2.5m output cable, connector & fuse protected crocodile clips
• Internal blocking diode prevents reverse current drain at night
• Inline 3 Amp fuse included

Electrical connection is simple, though the use of a solar regulator is recommended to prevent overcharge if the system is to be left unattended for long periods or the solar panel to battery ratio exceeds the minimum of 10W to 100Ah.

Standard Returns
If you are not entirely happy with your purchase, we will exchange or refund your goods in full, provided that the items are returned within 14 days of receipt.*
Please check the condition of goods on arrival - we are unable to accept goods damaged during shipping after 14 days.
Returned goods must be packaged securely, with all original packaging undamaged and in a saleable condition i.e. shoe boxes must be in the same condition as when received.
Goods must be unused and security seals intact.*
If you would like to return goods because they were ordered incorrectly or if clothing does not fit, return postage will be at your expense. If you would like us to replace the goods with another size or colour, we will charge carriage on the replacement.
Please be aware that some navigational and safety products may be dated, and as such a full refund may in some cases not be possible. If you are purchasing dated navigational charts we suggest you contact us for more information.
Faulty Goods
If you receive your goods and believe them to be faulty, please contact us straight away with a brief description of the problem. If we require you to return the product for a replacement, we will send you a pre-paid Royal Mail label for delivery back to us. Unfortuantely we cannot send the courier back to collect the items.
Returning goods to Force 4 is easy!
- Please contact us by ringing 0345 1300 710 or email on [email protected]. This way we'll be able to determine whether you would like to return the product for a refund or whether you'd like to exchange the product. We are unable to process the return of faulty goods that we're not expecting.
- We'll then give you a returns number. This returns number will need to be clearly marked on the outside of your parcel so it can be identified on arrival. Please note, failure to mark a returns reference number on the outside of your parcel may result in a delay in processing your return.
- Don't forget your proof of postage, just in case!
- Once we receive the item we'll be able to proceed with a refund or an exchange.

Solar Panels use many photovoltaic cells to convert the suns energy to electrical power and do not need a power source of their own to operate. A 12V battery needs a charging voltage above 13.6V to be applied in order to charge. All solar panels designed for 12V batteries will output this voltage (when in full sunlight) irrespective of size. The size of the panel determines the charging current - the higher the current the faster the battery will charge. So a 10Watt panel will charge at around 0.7A and a 20W panel will charge at around 1.4A. Panels bigger than 10W will require a solar charge regulator as direct connection of larger can cause battery gassing which leads to internal battery plate damage. https://www.force4.co.uk/item/Solar-Technology/Dual-Battery-Solar-Charge-Controller/WJD For your application - In order to ascertain the current required (and therefore panel size) to keep your battery fully charged you will need to calculate the maximum current drawn from the battery from all the devices connected to the battery. The easiest way is to measure using ammeter .The charge current from the solar panel must greater than the current drawn in order to charge the battery. Also the battery charge state has to be accounted for as the charge time will be a lot longer to charge a battery with a low charge.
