Description
TruDesign Composite Ball Valve (Seacock) BSP

For many years, bronze has been the material of choice for use in underwater marine applications such as thru-hull fittings and seacocks. It outperformed many other metals and alloys and has stood the test of time. Until now. Designed and made in New Zealand, TruDesigns marine fittings are precision moulded from a glass reinforced Nylon composite material which provides both maximum strength and durability.

TruDesign ball valves (seacocks) control thru-hull inlet and outlet flow requirements, above and below the water line. The ball and seal ring are moulded in a PTFE filled polymer for lubricated, smooth continuous ease of operation. This material resists marine growth, such as barnacles, preventing them from seizing up the valve.

Features:

  • Corrosion resistant and safe from electrolysis
  • Flame Retardant so can be used in engine compartments
  • Chemical resistant - Impervious to diesel, petrol and antifouling paints
  • UV resistant - Will not degrade or discolour with ultraviolet light from the sun
  • Lightweight - 6 to 1 weight saving over bronze
  • Individually leak and pressure tested during manufacture
  • Burst-rated to 750 PSI (5,170 kPa)
  • Parallel BSP threads
  • OPEN/CLOSED positions marked for easy identification
  • Frost-friendly and won’t split like metallic ball valves can when frozen
  • Removable handles to assist installation - fastened with a 316 Stainless Steel screw
  • No earth bonding needed
  • Can be locked to comply with toilet waste outlet standards
  • Operating temperature range: -40° to +110°C

Standard Returns

If you are not entirely happy with your purchase, we will exchange or refund your goods in full, provided that the items are returned within 14 days of receipt.*

Please check the condition of goods on arrival - we are unable to accept goods damaged during shipping after 14 days.

Returned goods must be packaged securely, with all original packaging undamaged and in a saleable condition i.e. shoe boxes must be in the same condition as when received.

Goods must be unused and security seals intact.*

If you would like to return goods because they were ordered incorrectly or if clothing does not fit, return postage will be at your expense. If you would like us to replace the goods with another size or colour, we will charge carriage on the replacement.

Please be aware that some navigational and safety products may be dated, and as such a full refund may in some cases not be possible. If you are purchasing dated navigational charts we suggest you contact us for more information.

Faulty Goods

If you receive your goods and believe them to be faulty, please contact us straight away with a brief description of the problem. If we require you to return the product for a replacement, we will send you a pre-paid Royal Mail label for delivery back to us. Unfortuantely we cannot send the courier back to collect the items.

Returning goods to Force 4 is easy!

  1. Please contact us by ringing 0345 1300 710 or email on [email protected]. This way we'll be able to determine whether you would like to return the product for a refund or whether you'd like to exchange the product. We are unable to process the return of faulty goods that we're not expecting.
  2. We'll then give you a returns number. This returns number will need to be clearly marked on the outside of your parcel so it can be identified on arrival. Please note, failure to mark a returns reference number on the outside of your parcel may result in a delay in processing your return.
  3. Don't forget your proof of postage, just in case!
  4. Once we receive the item we'll be able to proceed with a refund or an exchange.

*this excludes faulty goods with manufacturers defects. If goods are found to be faulty during use, after the returns period, please just give us a ring on 0345 1300 710 and we'll be happy to help.

Questions & Answers
Questions & Answers
Is a sealant or tape required for the joints on the composit sea cocks and skin fittings Peter Siddall
Yes you still need to seal the thread. Please follow the link to the Trudesign website and their help section for the advice they provide. https://www.trudesign.nz/marine/questions 29/4/20
Which skin fitting from the range you stock, would you recommend for this valve below the waterline? Mike
We would recommend going for one of the TruDesign skin fittings. Please note that all skin fittings, fitted below the waterline, must be threaded and connected to a ball valve, to enable shut off in an event of an emergency. https://www.force4.co.uk/item/TruDesign/Composite-Skin-Fitting-with-Hose-Tail-BSP/13GR 01/12/20
Can you tell me the size of the 3/4”, 1”, 1 1/4” and 1 1/2” valves please Keith Rodger

Please follow the link below to view the technical data sheet, which provides more dimensions on each version of the valves:
